AeroCharge has been selected as a winner of the 2026 U.S. Army xTech|Inversion competition, receiving a $152,000 prize for its proposal to integrate Army-owned IP Set 12: Voltage Step-Up Converter Circuits for Low Input Voltages into AeroCharge’s long-range RF-powered sensing platform.
Following its selection as a finalist, AeroCharge advanced to the Finals Pitch Event at Fed Supernova in Austin, Texas, where Founder and CEO Marko Vukovic presented the company’s solution to U.S. Army and Department of Defense experts.
AeroCharge is developing complete long-range RF-powered and connected sensing systems that integrate software-defined phased-array antennas, RF power transmission, wireless communications, receiver technology, and system integration. By combining these technologies into a single platform, AeroCharge delivers end-to-end solutions for defense, industrial, and commercial applications.
Under the xTech|Inversion opportunity, AeroCharge proposed integrating IP Set 12 into the receiver side of its existing platform. The Army-developed technology converts extremely low input voltages into usable power, addressing a key energy-harvesting challenge. The Army IP serves as an enabling component within AeroCharge’s broader system-level solution, allowing receivers to operate at lower received power levels, extending operating range, and powering enhanced battery-free and battery-extended sensors for asset tracking, logistics, access control, and industrial IoT.
Through the xTech|Inversion program, AeroCharge worked alongside Army and DoD experts to refine its integration approach and demonstrate how Army IP can be seamlessly embedded into an existing commercial platform.
In addition to the $152,000 prize, AeroCharge is eligible to apply for a $300,000 Army SBIR Phase I award to support continued development, system integration, and field demonstration.
AeroCharge looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the U.S. Army and bringing advanced RF-powered sensing solutions to defense and commercial markets.
